Where It All Began...

Our moment to slow down was the Pandemic, where we realised after decades of industry experience that the fashion world needs to change. Our aim is to make a positive impact using the knowledge we have gained over the years to promote a slower paced, sustainably conscious brand.

We not only want to make women feel amazing but empower them to feel confident in everything they do so they can ultimately concentrate on appreciating the good things in their life.

Meet Our Lovely Founder, Helen

With 15 years of experience in the fashion industry, the pandemic marked a turning point for me. As the world changed, I felt compelled to use my knowledge to make a meaningful impact. This inspired me to create Fika, a slow fashion brand that encourages people to buy less, wear for longer and is proudly based in Manchester, UK. Born during this transformative time, Fika places a special emphasis on colour. Personally, wearing vibrant colours lifted my mood along with compliments during our regular Zoom calls with friends and family. I realised then that colour had to be a central element of the brand, alongside sustainability, to safeguard the future of fashion. We carefully select colours that suit and complement all skin tones and research the positive emotions different hues evoke. It is crucial to us that our clothing makes people feel happy, confident, and comfortable. I am passionate about creating high-quality clothing designed to be worn season after season, year after year. Our designs blend timeless silhouettes with innovative elements to ensure comfort for women of all body types. As a curvy woman myself, I often struggled to find styles that I felt comfortable in, which felt even more important after the pandemic. This personal challenge inspired me to ensure that Fika offers all these qualities, helping women feel beautiful and at ease in their clothing while minimising the impact on the planet. Although Fika is still a small, young brand, I am incredibly proud of what we are creating and excited to see where the future takes us. There is always more to be done regarding sustainability, but as we grow, this will remain the core of our brand. Fika is designed by women for women and we can’t wait to grow our journey and build our community with you!  Founder

Ethical supply chain and manufacturing

Where we make our clothes is extremely important to us therefore we have partnered with a small selection of the best factories who we know well from many years of working in the fashion industry prior to this.

As a small brand, continuing to build and maintain these relationships will always be a key focus for us as they share the same journey, values and goals as us in creating much needed change in the industry. Therefore, as standard all of our partners hold ethical audits such as SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit).
